What Does “Brat Generator White Text” Mean?
People use the phrase for three different looks: white text on a black background, white text on brat green, and a white background with dark text. BratGen Free can make all three. Pick by where the image will end up, because each one suits different uses.
| Look | Best for | Readability |
|---|---|---|
| White text on black | Video overlays, story captions | Excellent |
| White text on green | Soft, playful covers | Weak; use large text only |
| White background, dark text | Slides, quote cards | Excellent |
How Do You Make White Text on a Black Background?
Choose the Black preset, then make sure the text color is white (#FFFFFF). Keep the words short, use a low blur, and export a PNG. This is the strongest white-text setup and the one most people want for overlays and captions.
- Type one to four lowercase words.
- Choose the Black preset.
- Set the text color to
#FFFFFFif it is not already white. - Set the blur low, around 1 to 3, so the letters stay bright.
- Choose 9:16 for vertical posts, then download a PNG.
Does White Text Work on Brat Green?
It works, but it is weak. White on #8ACE00 has a contrast ratio of about 1.9:1, while black on the same green is about 10.9:1. Use white on green only for big, short words, and check the result on a phone before posting.
- Choose the Brat green preset.
- Set the text color to
#FFFFFF. - Keep it to one or two words.
- Lower the blur, because blur makes weak contrast weaker.
- If it still looks faint, switch the text back to black.
How Do You Make a White Background Brat Image?
Choose the White preset for a white background with dark text. It suits slides, quote cards and clean captions. For a softer look, enter an off-white such as #F5F5F0 in the custom hex field. Black text on that off-white still has a contrast of about 19:1.
Can You Get White Text With a Transparent Background?
Not in BratGen Free. Exports use a solid background. Video editors often have a Screen or Lighten blend mode that hides black, so you can export white text on black and blend it over footage. Blend mode names vary by app. [VERIFY]
Which Setup Should You Use?

What Mistakes Make White Brat Text Look Bad?
The most common mistakes are low contrast, heavy blur, tiny text, compressed exports and long phrases. Each one makes white text look gray, faint or blurry. They are easy to fix.
- White on light green. Contrast is low. Use large words or switch to black.
- Heavy blur. Blur tends to dim white letters. Lower it.
- Too many words. Small white text fades quickly. Stay under five words.
- JPEG for overlays. Compression can leave marks around the letters. Use PNG.
- Checking only on a desktop. Always look at the image on your phone.
White Brat Text FAQ
What hex code is white?
White is #FFFFFF, or RGB 255, 255, 255. Type it into the custom color field for the text or the background. For a softer white, try #F5F5F0. Both work in BratGen Free, and both export as normal image colors.
Should I use white or black text on brat green?
Black gives much stronger contrast on brat green, about 10.9:1 versus 1.9:1 for white. White can work for large, short words when you want a lighter mood. If readability matters, choose black.
Why does my white text look gray?
Blur is the usual cause, because it spreads the light pixels into the dark ones. Lower the blur, export a PNG and view the file at 100% zoom. A JPEG can also add slight noise around the letters.
Can I make white text for a lyric video?
BratGen Free makes still images, not video. You can export white text on black as a 9:16 PNG and use it in a video editor. Video export is not available in the tool.
What contrast ratio should white text have?
The WCAG guideline asks for at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. White on black and white on blue pass. White on brat green fails both. [VERIFY]
Was the original brat text white or black?
It is most often described as dark text on green. A few sites describe it as white, so sources disagree. If you want the classic look, use black on green. [VERIFY]
Is off-white better than pure white?
Off-white is softer and less harsh on a screen. Pure white is brighter and simpler. Both give strong contrast with black text. Try #F5F5F0 in the custom hex field and compare.
Which shape is best for white text overlays?
Use 9:16 at 1080 × 1920 for vertical video and stories. Leave space at the top and bottom, where app buttons and captions sit. Use 1:1 for feed posts and profile pictures.
How many words work best?
One to four short words. White text has less impact than black on green, so short phrases hold up better than long ones.
